Smoky Mountain Photography - Capturing The Beauty of the Smokies

Barry has been serious about photography since he was a child growing up in New England. He now lives in Townsend, Tennessee at the foothills of the Smokies. The Smoky Mountains were one of his biggest reasons for relocating to the area over 20 years ago.

His passion for taking photographs led him to a career as a nature and wildlife photographer. His years of research and fieldwork through hiking, backwoods camping, fishing and travel are used on a daily basis and result in a unique style and candid ability to photograph nature and wildlife through the lens of his camera.

Barry’s work is available at The Cades Cove Gallery, 7843 East Lamar Alexander Parkway, Townsend, TN 37882. Stop by to take a piece of the Smokies home with you. Available products include framed metal prints, matted photos, greeting cards, post cards, and other unique gift items.

About Barry

Barry has been fortunate to live on both ends of the Appalachian Mountain range in Eastern North America. He was born and raised on the coast of New Hampshire. The 2nd half of his life he has called East Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains his home.

In 2004, Barry began putting together his portfolio in hopes to sell his work upon his retirement. In 2007, he retired and began his 2nd career as a Nature and Wildlife Photographer. He started selling his work at both indoor and outdoor events.

By 2015, he had a large enough following to open his first gallery in Townsend Tennessee. He outgrew that space in just 2 years and in 2017 he opened his current space, The Cades Cove Gallery. In 2018, Barry began teaching photography at the university non-credit program, speaking for clubs around the Southeast and guiding in the Smoky Mountains.
